DV-2026 Green Card Lottery Update: What You Should Know About the Results

The U.S. Department of State has announced that the results for the Diversity Visa (DV) 2026 Program, commonly referred to as the Green Card Lottery, will be available starting May 3, 2025, at 12:00 PM EDT.

This program offers up to 55,000 permanent resident visas to individuals from countries with historically low immigration rates to the United States.

Checking Your Status

Applicants can verify their selection status exclusively through the official Entrant Status Check portal at dvprogram.state.gov.

To access your results, you'll need your confirmation number, last name, and year of birth. It's important to note that the Department of State does not send out emails or letters to notify entrants of their selection.

Next Steps for Selected Applicants

Being selected in the DV Lottery does not guarantee a visa.

Selected individuals must complete the DS-260 form, attend a consular interview, and meet all eligibility requirements.

These requirements include having at least a high school education or two years of qualifying work experience in the past five years.

Beware of Scams

The U.S. government does not charge a fee to enter the DV Lottery.

Be cautious of fraudulent websites or individuals claiming to offer guaranteed selection or requesting payment for entry.

Always use the official website for information and application submissions.
